360° images and virtual tours drive results

62% of visitors prefer listings with photos of store interiors.

Listings with photos and a virtual tour are twice as likely to generate interest.

Complete listings inspire trust and are 78% more likely to be viewed as well-established.

On average, 41% of business searches on Google Maps result in an on-site visit.

Listings with photos and tours motivate customers to make a purchase 29% of the time.

What is a 360° Photo?

A 360° photograph is a special type of photo taken with a special type of camera.  These cameras capture photos in a 360 degreee field of view.  This is very useful for businesses to allow potential clients or customers to experience your location before making a physical journey.

Why should I have 360° Photos?

Google recommends that businesses have at least 3 (three) 360 degree photos on your Google Business Profile.  Google will also give a higher rank to these photos over conventional photos. This can increase your page rank for Google searches and business listings on Google.  The 360 photos have the added benefit of showing up in Google maps too.

What is a Virtual Tour?

A virtual tour is a series of 360° photos put together with special sofware and hosted online as part of your current website.  These are quite common with real estate listings, but businesses are getting into them as well.  Virtual tours can have interactable items, videos, e-commerce and even virtual zoom like meetings inside them.

Here are some examples.

Can you create a tour on my Google Business Profile?

Simple answer, YES.

Tours can be exported to your Google Business Profile and be part of the Google Earth and/or Street View project.  Interactive elements are not supported, but you can add your logo to the bottom of the photo.  See examples below or follow these links (may not work in all borwsers.)
